Why are Anglican Bishops Becoming Catholic?
On Tuesday 29th March 2022, the Congregation for Education published a new Instruction entitled, "THE IDENTITY OF THE CATHOLIC SCHOOL FOR A CULTURE OF DIALOGUE. " The instruction sets the Catholic school firmly within the context of the evangelising mission of the Church and as a means to evangelise the culture. Here in Perth, our mission with the Saint Theodore of Canterbury projects is to create a new type of Catholic school whose mission is exactly this. We are very much in line in our parish with "thinking with the Church" and of carrying out our Lord's command to preach the Gospel to all nations.

Below are two paragraphs from the conclusion of the Instruction which speak of the directions that the Church wants us to walk in when considering Catholic schooling:
94. In publishing this Instruction on the Catholic identity of educational institutions, in a spirit of service the Congregation for Catholic Education intends to offer a contribution for reflection and some guidelines to help share the missionary transformation of the Church, because “it is vitally important for the Church today to go forth and preach the Gospel to all: to all places, on all occasions, without hesitation, reluctance or fear”.
95. Pope Francis, in addressing the theme of the encounter among faith, reason and the sciences, emphasises that “Catholic schools, which always strive to join their work of education with the explicit proclamation of the Gospel, are a most valuable resource for the evangelisation of culture, even in those countries and cities where hostile situations challenge us to greater creativity in our search for suitable methods”.
